GMMF Condemns Attack In Woolwich, Calls For All To Support Moderation

KUALA LUMPUR, May 23 (Bernama) -- The Global Movement of Moderates Foundation (GMMF) has condemned unreservedly the recent attack in Woolwich, London that caused a man believed to be a member of the British Armed Forces to be killed by two religious fanatics.

In a statement Thursday, GMMF chief executive officer Khalek Awang voiced his deepest sympathy to the victim's family and friends.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim and his family and friends during this difficult time," he added.

Khalek sincerely urged both Muslims and non-Muslims alike and from all walks of life to come together and collectively denounce and reject the attack and adopt the path of moderation.

GMMF is a brainchild of Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
